The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet made the announcement on Saturday, confirming that Somanathan will serve in this prestigious role for a tenure of two years, beginning August 30.
From Finance Secretary to Cabinet Secretary
Before this appointment, Somanathan was serving as the Finance Secretary of India, where he played a crucial role in shaping the country’s economic policies.
