Campaigning Heats Up as Election Reaches Final Phases

With the election season nearing its conclusion, the campaigning for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections wrapped up on May 18. This crucial phase will see voters from 49 constituencies, including the significant seats of Amethi and Rae Bareli, heading to the polls on May 20.

Record-Breaking Seizures by Election Commission

The Election Commission (EC) announced a historic milestone with seizures nearing ₹9,000 crore, the highest ever recorded in any election. As of May 18, agencies have confiscated goods worth ₹8,889 crore. Notably, drugs account for a significant 45% of these seizures, amounting to ₹3,958 crore.

Arvind Kejriwal Challenges BJP Amid Election Tensions

In a bold move, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declared on May 18 that he, along with other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, would visit the BJP headquarters on May 19.
