UP Hathras Stampede Live Updates: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reached Aligarh’s Pilakhna village early this morning. He met with the families of the victims who tragically lost their lives in a stampede that occurred earlier this week, resulting in the deaths of 121 people.

Rahul Gandhi’s Visit to Aligarh

During his visit, Rahul Gandhi assured the grieving families of his support and pledged that his party would assist them in every possible way. A family member reported to PTI, “He assured that he will help us in every possible way through his party.” Following his visit to Aligarh, the senior Opposition leader is scheduled to meet with the victims’ families in Hathras.

What Happened in Hathras?

The stampede occurred during a satsang held by a local preacher in Phulrai village on Tuesday. The event, addressed by self-styled godman Narayan Sakar Hari, also known as Bhole Baba, turned tragic as the crowd surged, leading to the deaths of 121 people, mostly women.

The Case So Far

In response to the tragic incident, the Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested six satsang organizers, including two women. Aligarh IG Shalabh Mathur stated, “They all are members of the organizing committee and worked as ‘Sevadars’.” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a judicial probe into the incident. The investigation will be led by retired High Court judge Brijesh Kumar Srivastava and two other retired IAS officers, Hemant Rao and Bhavesh Kumar Singh.

Ongoing Investigations

While an FIR has been filed against the organizers of the event, Narayan Sakar Vishwa Hari, also known as ‘Bhole Baba,’ has not been named in the FIR as of yet.

As investigations continue and political leaders like Rahul Gandhi offer their support, the focus remains on understanding the cause of the tragedy and ensuring that justice is served for the victims and their families. Stay tuned for more live updates on the Hathras stampede incident.
