Trump Agrees to Debate with Kamala Harris, Sets Specific Rules for Face-Off

In a significant development leading up to the US presidential elections, former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump has agreed to a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump outlined the conditions for the debate in a post on Truth Social, confirming that the debate will follow the same rules as his previous encounter with President Joe Biden during the June 27 CNN debate.

The debate is scheduled to be broadcast live on ABC on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Trump emphasized that both he and Harris have agreed to specific rules, including no live audience and muted microphones when the other candidate is speaking. “The rules will be the same as the last CNN debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden,” Trump said in his post.

Trump’s agreement to debate Harris comes after he hinted over the weekend that he might cancel the event due to disagreements over the rules between the two campaigns. However, the two sides have now reached an understanding, with Trump also mentioning that the debate will be a “stand up” format, with no notes or “cheat sheets” allowed.

Trump further stated that a possible third debate has not yet been agreed upon, but he left the door open for future discussions. The Republican candidate also noted that Harris did not agree to a Fox News debate on September 4th but indicated that the date remains open if she changes her mind.

Kamala Harris, who entered the presidential race after President Joe Biden withdrew his election bid in July, stands to make history if elected, as she would become the first woman to hold the office of US President. The debate between Trump and Harris is expected to be a key moment in the election campaign, drawing significant attention from voters and political analysts alike.
