In a series of posts on social media platform X, PM Modi highlighted the government’s pride in the vibrant energy emanating from every: corner of the nation, especially from tier-2 and tier-3 cities. He emphasized, “Ours is a government that actively encourages startups and wealth creation.”

Transformation through Innovation

On Monday, during the ‘Vishesh Sampark Abhiyan’ event in the national capital, innovators and technocrats discussed the significant impact of initiatives like the Atal Innovation Mission, Start-up India, Stand-Up India, and Digital India on the Indian economy. Attendees, including Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Rajeev Chandrashekhar, acknowledged these initiatives’ role in transforming the startup ecosystem.

PM Modi’s Encouragement to Entrepreneurs

PM Modi took a moment to personally commend several notable entrepreneurs. Addressing Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, he stated, “In today’s India, one’s surname doesn’t matter. What matters is hard work. Your journey is truly inspiring, @deepigoyal. It motivates countless youngsters to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.”

He also praised Abhiraj Bhal, Founder of Urban Company, noting how the ‘Startup India’ initiative has created a favorable environment for innovation and growth. To Sunil Vachhani, Chairman of Dixon Technologies, PM Modi remarked on the remarkable transformation in India’s mobile phone and electronics industry, attributing it to proactive government measures.

Rise of Indian Unicorns

India’s startup ecosystem has seen tremendous growth, with the number of unicorns rising from four in 2015 to 130 in 2024. The country now boasts over 1.25 lakh startups, showcasing its potential and the effectiveness of government support.

Acknowledgment of Tech Leaders

PM Modi also recognized the contributions of Rohan Verma, CEO of Map My India, and assured continued efforts to transform the crucial space and geospatial sectors.

Prime Minister Modi’s praise and the government’s initiatives underscore the importance of hard work and innovation in India’s burgeoning startup landscape.
