05.05.2024: During a recent campaign trail in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress party chief, shed light on his simple yet iconic fashion statement of always wearing a white T-shirt. Known for his transparent and straightforward approach, the 53-year-old leader shared his reasoning behind this style choice during a candid interview.

“Transparency and simplicity. And I don’t really care much about clothes. I just prefer it simple,” said Rahul Gandhi as he explained his preference while boarding a chopper.

Apart from addressing fashion queries, Rahul Gandhi took on a more journalistic role by interviewing Congress chief M Kharge and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during a “light rapid fire” session and video chat among the three leaders.

When asked about the essence of campaigning, Mr. Kharge emphasized the importance of working for the country and standing up against those who harm it. Siddaramaiah, on the other hand, stressed the significance of ideology over power, highlighting the need to convey the party’s beliefs and achievements to the people.

Rahul Gandhi resonated with these views, asserting that a clear understanding and promotion of ideology, particularly one that supports the underprivileged and promotes equality, are crucial in political engagements at both organizational and national levels.

Reflecting on his campaign experiences, Rahul Gandhi candidly remarked, “When it ends,” indicating the rigorous nature of the political journey. Despite the challenges, he finds value in delivering speeches that provoke thoughts about the country’s needs and aspirations.

The ongoing elections in Karnataka, with 28 Lok Sabha seats, are being conducted in two phases, with the final results scheduled for June 4. The political landscape has evolved since the last elections, with BJP and JD-S forming a coalition this time around, presenting a new dynamic in the electoral scenario.
