Yuvraj arrived in Canada in 2019 on a student visa and worked as a sales executive. His father, Rajesh Goyal, operates a firewood business in India, while his mother, Shakun Goyal, is a homemaker. Notably, Yuvraj had no criminal record, and the motive behind his murder remains under investigation, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Incident Details
The tragic event occurred on June 7 at 8:46 am, when the Surrey Police received a call about a shooting in the 900-block of 164 Street in Surrey, British Columbia. Upon their arrival, officers found Yuvraj dead at the scene.
Suspects and Charges
Four suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the murder. Manvir Basram (23), Sahib Basra (20), and Harkirat Jhutty (23) from Surrey, along with Keilon Francois (20) from Ontario, have been charged with first-degree murder as of Saturday.
Police Statement
Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) expressed gratitude for the efforts of the Surrey RCMP, Air 1, and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT). He emphasized that the investigation is ongoing to uncover the motive behind Yuvraj’s targeted killing.

“We are thankful for the hard work of the Surrey RCMP, Air 1, and Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT), but there is still more work to be done. IHIT investigators remain dedicated to determining why Mr. Goyal was the victim of this homicide,” Sergeant Pierotti stated.
