09.04.2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a public meeting near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore on April 10, 2024, as part of the Lok Sabha election campaign for BJP candidates in Tamil Nadu. This will mark his third public meeting in the Kongu region, showcasing the party’s efforts to rally support ahead of the elections.

During this event, PM Modi will lend his support to several BJP candidates, including Union Minister L. Murugan for the Nilgiris constituency, BJP T.N. president K. Annamalai for Coimbatore, State general secretary A.P. Muruganandam for Tiruppur, K. Vasantha Rajan for Pollachi, and others.

This upcoming meeting follows PM Modi’s previous engagements in the region, including a public meeting in Palladam on February 27 and another in Salem on March 19. Additionally, he conducted a roadshow in Coimbatore on March 18 and paid respects to the victims of the 1998 Coimbatore serial blasts.

To ensure the safety and security of the event, approximately 4,000 police personnel will be deployed at the venue, along the route, and around the helipad. Measures have been taken to restrict the operation of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the area during the event days.

PM Modi’s schedule for the day includes arrival at Coimbatore International Airport via an IAF aircraft from Arakkonam at 1:10 p.m., followed by reaching a helipad near Mettupalayam on an IAF chopper at 1:35 p.m. He will then proceed to the venue by road and address the gathering between 1:45 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. After the meeting, he will depart for Nagpur at 3:15 p.m.

Given the heightened security measures and the significant political importance of this event, it’s expected to draw considerable attention and support from the local community and BJP supporters across Tamil Nadu.
