27.08.2024:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a significant conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin today, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and discussing the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. This discussion comes shortly after PM Modi’s recent visit to Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to address the ongoing conflict.

Strengthening Strategic Partnerships

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi shared insights from his conversation with President Putin, stating, “Spoke with President Putin today. Discussed measures to further strengthen Special and Privileged Strategic Partnerships. Exchanged perspectives on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and my insights from the recent visit to Ukraine. Reiterated India’s firm commitment to support an early, abiding and peaceful resolution of the conflict.”

The Indian government also released a statement highlighting the progress made during PM Modi’s visit to Russia in July, where he participated in the 22nd India-Russia Bilateral Summit. The two leaders reviewed ongoing bilateral issues and explored ways to enhance the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia.
