Noor Malabika Das’s Death: Mother Breaks Silence, Says She Was ‘Not Satisfied’ With Her Achievements
11.06.2024: Bollywood actress Noor Malabika Das was found dead in her Mumbai apartment on Monday, June 10. Known for her role in the Kajol-led series The Trial, Noor’s body was discovered on June 6, four days after her death. The police suspect suicide. A friend conducted her funeral in the absence of her family, who later opened up about her mental health struggles.
In an interview with The Times of India, Noor’s mother, Aarti Das, revealed that the actress had been battling depression. She mentioned that Noor was unhappy with her achievements, saying, “She went to Mumbai with big hopes to become an actress. However, she was fighting hard to achieve this. We understand that Malabika was unsatisfied with her achievements, which forced her to take the extreme step.”
Noor, originally from Assam, was a former air hostess who transitioned into acting, making her mark in Hindi web series. She had leading roles in several popular web series, including Siskiyaan, Walkaman Upaya, and Charamsukh. In The Trial, she played a supporting role alongside Kajol.
According to police sources, Noor’s body was found after neighbors reported a foul smell coming from her apartment. Concerned, they informed the Oshiwara Police, who forced entry into the flat and discovered Noor’s decomposed body hanging from a ceiling fan. The police have initially ruled her death as a suicide, but a detailed investigation is ongoing.
In response to the tragic incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has called on Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough probe into the alleged suicide.
