NEET UG 2024 Results: AIR 1 Mazin Mansoor’s Counselling Rank Improves After Revised Result
27.07.2024: Mazin Mansoor, who scored a perfect 720/720 in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024, saw his counselling rank improve after the revised results were announced. Initially ranked 1.05, Mansoor’s rank has now improved to 1.03, sharing the All India Rank (AIR) with 16 others by obtaining a 99.997129 percentile.
Mazin Mansoor’s Journey
Interestingly, Mansoor shifted from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) after Class 10 to avoid the extra burden of board exam preparation. This strategic move helped him focus more on competitive exams like NEET. Despite the shift, he still scored 87% in his Class 12 BSEB exams in 2024.
Family of Doctors
Mazin comes from a family of doctors. His father is a paediatrician working in a government hospital in Saudi Arabia, while his maternal uncle, aunts, and both paternal and maternal grandfathers are also doctors. His brother is pursuing BDS at Sarjug Dental College Darbhanga and is in his fourth year. This strong medical background inspired Mansoor to pursue MBBS and excel in NEET UG.
Preparation Strategy
Mazin enrolled in a classroom coaching program at Allen Institute in Bihar after Class 10. He diligently followed the coaching modules and NCERT textbooks, ensuring a streamlined preparation without distractions. He never allowed any backlog in his studies and balanced his time effectively between coaching classes and self-study.
“I never set a strict time limit for my studies. I focused on completing each topic thoroughly,” Mansoor shared.
Approach to Mock Tests
Initially, Mansoor attempted mock tests by starting with biology, followed by chemistry, and then physics. However, he soon realized this approach was not effective. He switched to starting with chemistry, followed by biology, and ending with physics, which proved to be a better strategy.
Exam Experience
Mazin found the NEET UG 2024 paper relatively easy, especially since some high-weightage topics in chemistry were removed due to the rationalized syllabus. “The level of questions was almost the same, but the syllabus changes made it easier for us,” he noted.
Dreaming of AIIMS New Delhi
Mazin always aspired to join the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi. With his impressive score, he is thrilled to achieve his dream. “In the middle of my preparation, AIIMS New Delhi seemed like a distant dream. However, after the results were out on June 4, it became clear that I would get admission to AIIMS New Delhi,” he added.
Mazin Mansoor’s journey is an inspiring example of strategic planning and hard work. His story underscores the importance of a focused approach and determination in achieving one’s goals. For more updates on NEET UG 2024 results and other related news, stay tuned to our blog.
