20.04.2024 : Manu Bhaker showcased her exceptional talent by dominating the women’s 25m pistol qualification, surpassing the world record score by a significant six points. Meanwhile, Anish Bhanwala secured victory in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol Olympics Selection Trials 1 held in New Delhi on Saturday, highlighting a day of outstanding performances at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range.
In the women’s 25m pistol qualification, Manu Bhaker’s prowess was evident as she topped the charts with an impressive display, including a series of rapid-fire shots where she scored 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, and 5 points. Her total score left her well ahead of her competitors, showcasing her dominance in the event.
Esha Singh put up a commendable performance but was eliminated after the seventh series, while Manu continued to extend her lead. Despite not winning the qualification, Esha’s strong showing secured her top position in the women’s 25m pistol Olympics Selection Trials.
In the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol event, Anish Bhanwala displayed his skill by finishing with 33 hits, establishing a clear lead over the competition. Vijayveer Sidhu and Adarsh Singh also put in notable performances, securing the second and third spots, respectively.
