20.05.2024:  Shah Rukh Khan and his family made headlines on Monday as they arrived to cast their votes for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2024. The “Jawan” actor, dressed casually in a blue t-shirt and jeans, was seen escorting his family to the polling booth.

The superstar was accompanied by his wife, Gauri Khan, who sported a white t-shirt and jeans, and their children: daughter Suhana in a blue kurti, and sons Aryan and AbRam, both in white t-shirts and jeans. Shah Rukh Khan held Suhana and AbRam’s hands as they made their way to the voting station, creating a buzz online. Check out the pictures here:

Mumbai Celebrities Turn Out in Force

Monday saw a significant turnout of Mumbai’s film industry stars exercising their voting rights. Notable names included film veterans Dharmendra and David Dhawan, along with actors Farhan Akhtar, Varun Dhawan, and Ranbir Kapoor. Parents-to-be Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh also voted, with Deepika’s baby bump subtly visible in a loose shirt.

Shah Rukh Khan Urges Citizens to Vote

Ahead of the election, Shah Rukh Khan took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to encourage citizens to vote. He wrote, “As responsible Indian citizens, we must exercise our right to vote this Monday in Maharashtra. Let’s carry out our duty as Indians and vote, keeping our country’s best interests in mind. Key Candidates and Voter Statistics

In Maharashtra, polling is being conducted in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, including six in Mumbai. Key BJP candidates include Piyush Goyal, Bharati Pawar (Dindori), and Kapil Patil (Bhiwandi), along with prominent lawyer Ujjwal Nikam (Mumbai North Central).

According to the Election Commission, over 8.95 crore voters are participating in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha election. This includes 4.69 crore males, 4.26 crore females, and 5,409 third-gender electors, who will decide the fate of 695 candidates.
