06.05.2024: Karnataka’s political landscape has been rocked by allegations surrounding JDS leader and MLA HD Revanna, who faces accusations of kidnapping and illegal confinement of a woman, reportedly a former domestic help at his residence. The case takes a darker turn as it’s claimed that the woman was also allegedly sexually assaulted by Revanna’s son, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who has been suspended by the JDS pending investigations.

The incident prompted a swift response from law enforcement, with HD Revanna now in the custody of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a three-day probe. The genesis of these charges lies in a complaint lodged by the woman’s son, alleging that Revanna’s aide forcibly took his mother away on a motorcycle, intimating that the MLA wished to meet her. Disturbingly, the complainant also discovered that his mother was featured in explicit videos circulating widely, purportedly depicting her being subjected to sexual abuse by Prajwal Revanna.

Revanna has vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them as part of a larger political conspiracy against him. However, the gravity of the accusations and the involvement of a prominent political figure have thrust this case into the spotlight, raising questions about power dynamics, accountability, and the safety of vulnerable individuals.

As the SIT delves into this complex web of allegations, including the sexual abuse claims against Prajwal Revanna, the public waits for answers and justice for the victims involved. The unfolding events underscore the importance of thorough investigations, safeguarding victims’ rights, and ensuring transparency in matters of public interest.
