JD(S) Embraces SIT Probe into Prajwal Revanna ‘Sex Scandal’ Case

29.04.2024: In response to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s recent announcement of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the alleged sex scandal linked to Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna from Hassan, the regional party has voiced its support for this move. This development comes as pressure mounts on the party to address the situation, particularly concerning Prajwal Revanna, who also happens to be the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Devegowda.
G.T. Devegowda, JD(S) core committee chairman and a prominent party figure, expressed openness towards the government’s investigation. “If any wrongdoing is found, appropriate action should be taken. We wholeheartedly welcome this government-led inquiry and are prepared for any scrutiny,” he stated during a press interaction.
Responding to allegations from Congress members suggesting a potential cover-up, G.T. Devegowda reaffirmed trust in investigative agencies such as the CID and SIT. “The investigation agencies are committed, the government is supportive, and the legal framework is on our side,” he assured.
