In Gujarat: The Curious Case of an Alleged Bootlegger, an Instagram Cop, and a Car Chase
06.07.2024: In a dramatic series of events in Gujarat’s Kutch district, a car chase led to the arrest of a head constable and an alleged bootlegger, capturing the public’s attention and sparking curiosity across social media.
Head constable Nita Chaudhary, 34, of Gujarat’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and Yuvrajsinh Jadeja, 30, an alleged bootlegger with 15 cases of bootlegging and one attempt to murder case registered against him, were arrested on July 1. A photograph taken at Bhachau police station shows the duo standing with their hands folded behind them. Chaudhary, dressed in a white T-shirt and yellow pants, sports a hint of a smile, while Jadeja, in a blue button-down shirt, looks directly at the camera.
Chaudhary’s presence in this case has drawn significant attention, particularly on social media. Her Instagram account, which describes her as an “artist” and features reels of her lip-syncing to popular songs, saw her follower count more than double, surpassing 100,000 followers since her arrest.
The car chase and subsequent arrest have kept the Gujarat Police busy, as they navigate the implications of having a member of their force involved in such a high-profile case. The events have raised questions about Chaudhary’s relationship with Jadeja and her involvement in his alleged criminal activities.
