Haryana Student Mistaken for Cow Smuggler: Chased 30 Km, Fatally Shot by Vigilante Group

Faridabad, Haryana – August 23
A tragic incident in Haryana’s Faridabad has claimed the life of a Class 12 student, Aryan Mishra, who was mistaken for a cattle smuggler by a group of cow vigilantes. The young student was chased for nearly 30 kilometers before being fatally shot by members of the vigilante group.

Incident Details: The attack occurred on August 23 when Aryan, along with his friends Shanky and Harshit, was traveling near Gadhpuri on the Delhi-Agra National Highway. The group was reportedly pursued by five individuals, identified as Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, Adesh, and Saurabh, who were part of a cow vigilante organization.

According to sources, the vigilantes were on the lookout for cattle smugglers driving a Renault Duster and Toyota Fortuner. They spotted a Duster car at Patel Chowk and, suspecting it was the smugglers’ vehicle, ordered the driver, Harshit, to stop. Fearing for their lives due to an unrelated rivalry, the students attempted to flee. This led to a high-speed chase during which the vigilantes opened fire, hitting Aryan in the neck as he sat in the passenger seat.

When the students finally stopped the car, the assailants fired again, believing they might be attacked. However, upon seeing two women in the car, the vigilantes realized their fatal mistake and fled the scene.

Aftermath and Arrests: Aryan was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries the following day. The weapon used in the attack was reportedly illegal. The five accused vigilantes have since been arrested and are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

This heartbreaking incident has raised serious concerns about the actions of self-appointed vigilante groups and their impact on innocent lives.
