01.05.2024: Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj recently provided an update on AAP MP Raghav Chadha’s absence from election campaigns, revealing that he is in the UK undergoing eye surgery. The minister emphasized the seriousness of Chadha’s condition and the potential risk to his eyesight if timely treatment wasn’t sought. Despite his physical absence, Chadha remains active on social media, addressing various developments within the party.
In a post from April 18, Chadha expressed concern over allegations that Tihar jail authorities were denying insulin and other medications to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has diabetes. Chadha described the situation as inhumane and against prison rules.
Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in the Delhi Liquor Policy case and subsequent detention in a money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has brought attention to the issue of healthcare access for inmates. Chadha’s vocal advocacy highlights ongoing challenges faced by individuals in custody.
Amidst these developments, AAP announced that Mrs. Kejriwal would lead the party’s Lok Sabha campaign, starting with a roadshow in support of AAP candidates in East Delhi. This move underscores AAP’s commitment to active political engagement despite challenges.
Previously, in March, Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra participated in the London India Forum 2024, showcasing a blend of personal and professional engagements on social media platforms. Their presence at the event reflects broader diplomatic and cultural exchanges between India and the UK.
Chadha’s situation serves as a reminder of the importance of accessible healthcare and the intersection of health issues with broader political and social contexts. His recovery and return to active campaigning are awaited, emphasizing the ongoing dynamics within AAP and Delhi’s political landscape.
