Deadly Attack in Manipur: Two CRPF Personnel Killed by Alleged Militants

27.04.2024: Two CRPF personnel, including a sub-inspector, lost their lives in a tragic incident on Saturday as militants, suspected to be Kuki insurgents, unleashed a two-hour-long indiscriminate firing at an IRB post in Naransena, Manipur’s Bishnupur district.
The Manipur police reported that the victims were from CRPF’s 128 Battalion stationed in the Naransena area. The militants carried out the attack by firing from hilltops, targeting the camp between midnight and 2:15 am, causing severe casualties.
Identified as CRPF sub-inspector N Sarkar and head constable Arup Saini, the deceased heroes were part of the security detail assigned to the IRBn camp. Additionally, inspector Jadav Das and constable Aftab Das sustained injuries, inflicted by splinters during the assault.
Authorities immediately launched a massive search operation to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act. The incident has raised concerns about security in the region and the ongoing challenges faced by security forces combating insurgency.
