The votes are being counted today, and the process began at 8 am, according to the Election Commission of India. Andhra Pradesh held simultaneous elections for its 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats on May 13. The state recorded a voter turnout of approximately 68 percent.
Key candidates in this election include the incumbent Chief Minister and YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy, contesting from Pulivendula. Other notable contenders are TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu from Kuppam and Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan from Pithapuram.
