21.05.2024: Aditi Rao Hydari, currently riding high on the success of Heeramandi, recently shared her experiences of working with two of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, in an interview with Humans Of Bombay. Aditi, who worked with Ranbir in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, expressed her admiration for his talent and on-screen presence.
“But working with Ranbir was mad. He’s incredible, so incredible. He’s one of my favorite actors and he’s so present. He can convince you of anything,” Aditi revealed, highlighting the profound impact Ranbir had on her during their collaboration.

In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, Aditi played Mehrunisa, the first wife of Alauddin Khilji, portrayed by Ranveer Singh. Reflecting on her time on set, Aditi recalled a conversation with Ranveer, who told her, “Adu, you know you’re living the dream, right?” At the time, Aditi had just transitioned from a film with Mani Ratnam to Bhansali’s grand set, making Ranveer’s words resonate deeply with her. “You’re right, you’re right,” she responded, realizing the magnitude of the opportunity.

Aditi also spoke fondly of her enduring relationship with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in a conversation with IANS. “I am very protective of him. I feel he is very precious, and he should just be protected. For me, it’s a huge blessing and a blessing from him,” she said. Aditi recounted how Bhansali’s trust in her for the role of Mehrunisa, despite it being a smaller part, was a significant moment in her career. “I just love him, his cinema, his mind, and his heart so much. I said you don’t have to say any of that, sir, I am there,” she added, expressing her gratitude for being part of his vision.
