18.04.2024 : West Bengal’s political landscape is tense following clashes during Ram Navami processions, with Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP squarely blaming Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the unrest.

Four people sustained injuries during an attack on a Ram Navami procession in Murshidabad district, sparking a heated debate over the state’s law and order situation. Adhikari directly accused Banerjee of inciting miscreants through provocative rhetoric, leading to the disruption of Ram Navami celebrations across the state.

In a statement, Adhikari criticized Banerjee’s alleged assurance to miscreants that law enforcement would not act against them, citing her public stance on Ram Navami as a day for rioting. He has called for an NIA probe into the violence and urged the Governor to intervene to restore order.

The BJP’s condemnation extends beyond mere criticism, with party members like Amit Malviya highlighting a pattern of targeted attacks on Ram Navami processions and devotees, attributing these incidents to Banerjee’s alleged communal speeches.

As tensions escalate, the call for accountability and swift action to address the root causes of the violence grows louder, setting the stage for a contentious political showdown in West Bengal.
